At the Winchester Dam, on the National Registry of Historical Places, you can be one with the fish - or at least feel like it by visiting the Winchester Dam Fish Ladder.
Located just off I-5 at exit #129, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife created viewing windows where visitors can observe species present at different times of the year including Steelhead, Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Trout, Lamprey, Northern Pike, minnow and suckers on the North Umpqua River. Adult fish can be observed swimming upstream through a fishway.
It's free and it's fish in their native environment. It’s better than the aquarium!
